How Sun-Mar GTG Composting toilet works 

The Sun-Mar GTG is a urine diverting toilet that has a solids chamber and a liquids chamber. The separation of urine and solid waste prevents the creation of black water and therefore avoid odors. With venting and with included compost magic (coco fiber), the solid waste in the solids chamber will be vented out, dried out to eliminate bathroom odors. The solids chamber and liquids chamber are emptied when full.

Decent Composting Toilet

For a composting toilet under $650, this toilet is a decent choice. It's sturdy and doesn't exhibit much smell. It's good for temporary situations such as camping.

Compost Bag is the Easier Cleanup Option

A compost bag is better than a bucket and makes for easy cleanup.

It's Ok

It's working for us, but we could use a better urine system. Too much urine goes in the solid container. I've tried everything to fix this problem but haven't come up with a solution yet. I also feel that the cloth handle on the urine container should be something other than cloth. It gets wet and it's hard to clean. It would be nice if there were some way to cover the solid container.

The receptacle is heavy duty and easy to use. I place a garbage bag in the receptacle and then throw away when full. The only thing I'd change is having a way to close off the solids container and a way to run the fan on a rechargeable battery.
