"I had an older, smaller generator that worked well during Hurricane Ian, but it was no longer able to power my whole house A/C due to its age. I wanted a generator with more capacity to run my A/C and other appliances such as my refrigerator and freezer. After researching reviews and competitors, I decided to purchase a Duromax generator. My brother had an older Duromax and was very satisfied with it. Amazon kept me informed of the delivery date, which arrived within the 7 am to 5 pm window. The delivery people were subcontractors and were a bit rougher than I would have liked, but I assume it had been through a lot on its journey from Vietnam.
Assembly took about 1.5 hours and the manual was sparse, but the photos were poor. I had to remove shipping braces, attach the wheels and handles. The unit did not come with oil, so I had to purchase two quarts. Once assembled, the generator started up immediately and was much quieter than I expected. I connected it to my whole house connector with a cable I bought from Amazon. I tested it with a good electrical load and the voltage held. I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it as a great value for a whole house generator without the cost of a Generac or other brand."
